Knish Dough: 1/2 tsp salt 2 eggs beaten 1/2 lb margarine or butter 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup warm water 2 packages dry yeast 2 1/2 cup flour Disolve yeast in warm water. beat eggs and mix well with salt, shortening and sugar, then add the disolved yeast. Add the flour in gradually and mix this well. Cover and chill for 2 hours. Filling: 1 egg 1/2 lb farmers cheese 1 tablespoon sour cream 1/2 lb cream cheese 2 tb margarine 1 medium onion finely chopped sugar to taste Fry onion in shortening till transparent. Mix with remaining ingredients. Roll out the dough (1/2 at a time) and cut in 3 inch rounds. Place 1 tablespoon of filling onto a round of dough and top with another round. Seal by crimping together with a fork. Bake on a lightly greased baking sheet at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or till lightly browned. You can make these ahead and then reheat in a warm oven.
